SMS Management and Technology has recruited Infosys Australia boss Jacqueline Korhonen as its new chief executive officer after a long search.
"The prospect of leading Australia’s most successful listed technology services business is a unique opportunity," said Korhonen.
Korhonen has been Infosys' ANZ country manager since 2008, according to LinkedIn, and served 23 years with IBM prior to that. She will come across to SMS on 2 February.
Predecessor Tom Stianos, who announced his retirement in August after 26 years with the company, will delay his departure until February.
SMS chairman Derek Young said that Korhonen has "a track record of managing and delivering profitable growth within technology companies".
"I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jacqueline Korhonen as the new chief executive officer of SMS... I believe Jacqueline’s skills and experience will assist SMS in achieving its strategic objectives whilst driving improvements in operational performance," said Young.
The chairman also confirmed that SMSMT's 2015 first half EBITDA will "likely" be up 40 to 50 percent compared to the $9.4 million earnt in the same period last year. The reseller had experienced mixed results for the 2014 financial year, upping revenue by 13 percent but copping a 40 percent fall in net profit.
Infosys Australia made headlines last month for a project migrating 500 Victorian schools to the AWS cloud. Korhonen said at the time: "Now that these services can be provided in a highly secure, domestically hosted environment, cloud has moved beyond ‘buzz’ to solving everyday business problems for organisations."
