Cyber security specialist Slipstream Cyber has expanded its footprint with a new office in Perth's CBD, officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Western Australia's Minister for Science and Innovation.
The office is located at Level 1, 40 Esplanade in Perth.
It brings together Impact Awards 2023 finalist Slipstream Cyber and Interactive, the IT service provider that acquired the cyber security firm in 2023.
Stephen Dawson, Minister for Regional Development, Ports, Science and Innovation, Medical Research and Minister for the Kimberley, officiated the opening ceremony.
"We recognise that cyber security is critical to businesses across key sectors across Western Australia including finance, healthcare and mining," Dawson said.
Australian businesses currently report a cyber incident every six minutes and take an average of almost 200 days to detect security breaches, highlighting the critical need for enhanced cyber security services.
"We're excited to move into the new office and have a consolidated location in Perth with both our Interactive and Slipstream Cyber teams," Nick Scholefield, managing director at Slipstream Cyber, said.
The expansion comes as Slipstream Cyber has grown its national customer base by 20 per cent over the past 12 months, supported by a team of 60 specialists.
Slipstream Cyber was founded in Western Australia in 2017 and provides 24/7 cyber defence and advisory services through an Australian-based Security Operations Centre (SOC).
The company focuses on industries with high cyber security demands, including financial services, manufacturing, professional services, health care, and mining.
"Western Australia plays a crucial role in Australia's economy, particularly in technology and critical infrastructure, making this the perfect time to expand our footprint," Scholefield said.
Beyond cyber security services, Slipstream Cyber is actively investing in developing future digital talent, addressing Australia's projected need for 1.3 million technology workers by 2030.
The company participates in the Work Integrated Learning Program with Edith Cowan University and has placed 20 graduates in the past five years.
