Simms offers Invisibleshield to Apple channel

Simms International has inked a deal to distribute a new kind of "military-grade" scratch protection film for the screens of electronic devices including those made by Apple.

Called Invisibleshield, the product would prove a "perfect complement" to Simms' Apple iPod and laptop distribution business, the distie's Australian managing director Danny Moore said.

And a representative for Invisibleshield in Australia, Paul Branagan, said the link with Apple was a top priority.

"We are very excited about this relationship with Simms. They have such a good reputation, particularly within the Apple brand, so they are a great match for us," Branagan said.

"Although Invisibleshield is perfect for a variety of brands, Apple is our number one priority."

Manufactured by Zagg, the product is an "ultra-tough, patented film for protecting electronic devices such as iPods, laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, PDAs and GPS systems".

It allowed customers "to use electronic devices without the fear of scratches or nicks, while maintaining the aesthetic look and feel of their mobile device", the distie said.

Simms said its top iPod and iPhone retailers would prove fertile ground for generating sales of the product.
