Cybersecurity firm Semperis said it has appointed Gerry Sillars as vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) to accelerate the company's aggressive regional growth strategy.

Sillars, who brings over two decades of experience in scaling software businesses across the region, will continue to lead the identity security specialist's expansion from his base in Singapore.

He has been with Semperis since July last year, with the vice president position finalised in April, a spokesperson for the provider told Techpartner.news.

Prior to joining Semperis, Sillars held vice president positions at several technology leaders including Commvault Systems, Alcatel Lucent, UpGuard, and Fortanix, where he developed extensive experience in building channel strategies and expanding market presence.

Semperis has reported triple-digit revenue growth and pipeline expansion in 2024, reflecting the increasing prioritisation of identity-driven security among organisations throughout Asia Pacific.

"My transition several months ago to leading Semperis' regional expansion in Asia Pacific has come at a pivotal moment, Sillars said.

Identity-driven security has emerged as one of the most critical priorities for organisations in this region, so the timing couldn't have been better," Sillars added.

Under his leadership, Semperis has already established distribution agreements across multiple key markets including Southeast Asian countries, India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

These strategic partnerships have contributed to Semperis growing its regional partner network by over 100 per cent, creating a robust foundation for continued market penetration.

The appointment follows Semperis recently surpassing US$100 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), a milestone achieved by fewer than one in every 1,000 enterprise software companies.

Semperis specialises in AI-powered identity security solutions that help enterprises combat the increasing threat of identity-based attacks in Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID environments.

The company's technology protects over 100 million identities from cyberattacks, data breaches and operational errors, with capabilities to spot directory vulnerabilities, intercept attacks in progress, and reduce recovery time from ransomware by 90 per cent.

Headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey, Semperis operates internationally with research and development teams distributed throughout the United States, Canada and Israel.

In Australia-New Zealand, Semperis is distributed by NEXTGEN, a spokesperson for the company told Techpartner.news.
