Secure Computing offloads business unit
Secure Computing claims it sold its business unit including its employees, research, development group and sales team, to renew its focus on helping customers to protect their Web, email and network assets.

According to Eric Krieger, country manager A/NZ, Aladdin was the strongest partner to ensure a seamless transition to continue its services and support for customers and partners.

Aladdin Knowledge Systems specialises in authentication, software DRM and content security.

"Nothing is going to change in the short-term. The transaction isn’t officially closed until the end of September. We see this as a natural growth for us. Web technology is our new branded area," said Krieger.

"We don’t believe the transaction will affect the resellers because it will be a seamless migration for customers. The company believes the vast majority of customers and channel partners will both support and celebrate the company's renewed focus," added Krieger.

Aladdin eToken is a USB-based solution, offering identity and access management tools that protect sensitive data. The acquisition means that being a provider of token technology it can add to its channel presence.

“This acquisition is a major corporate milestone, as it quickly brings sizeable revenues and growth opportunities that perfectly align with Aladdin’s business,” said Yanki Margalit, chairman and CEO of Aladdin Knowledge Systems.

“The incorporation of SafeWord into the Aladdin set of eToken authentication solutions will benefit customers by providing them a broader range of solutions for their security needs,” Margalit added.

SafeWord protects companies’ information assets and applications. Its integration with existing Microsoft infrastructure allows it to deploy remote access authentication for VPNs, Citrix applications, Web applications, Webmail, and Outlook Web Access.
