Schneider Electric has made two leadership appointments, seeking to capitalise on the growing cloud and digital infrastructure market in the Pacific region.

Joe Craparotta has been named vice president of cloud and service providers for the Pacific, while Farokh Ghadially takes on the role of vice president of secure power for the region.

The moves come as Schneider Electric aims to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing cloud, artificial intelligence and data centre sectors in Australia and New Zealand.

Craparotta has 30 years of industry experience, and will lead Schneider Electric's cloud and service providers market segment strategy and key business relationships.

Ghadially meanwhile is an 18-year veteran of the company.

He will focus on driving secure power portfolio growth across market segments and accelerating AI-driven solutions.

The appointments are part of Schneider Electric's broader expansion plans in the Pacific Zone, aimed at meeting the increasing demand for innovative and sustainable solutions.

The company views these leadership changes as crucial steps in advancing its stronghold in cloud, AI, and data centre sectors, aligning with projected high growth in data centre capacity in the Pacific.

Schneider Electric's expansion in the Pacific comes at a time when demand for cloud services and data centre capacity is surging, driven by increased digital transformation efforts and the growing adoption of AI technologies.

The company's focus on sustainable solutions aligns with the increasing emphasis on environmental responsibility in the tech sector, particularly in data centre operations.

Schneider Electric won the award for the best vendor in the ESG category in the 2024 CRN Impact Awards.
