Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 price leaked

A leaked shopping catalogue from retail chain Myer has revealed the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia.

The 16GB model, which comes with a 10.1in touch screen, Android 3.0 and 1GHz Dual Core processor, is listed in Myer's catalogue as $579. The offer also comes bundled with a free carry sleeve.

This is significantly cheaper than the Vodafone-exclusive model that launched back in May for $729. It too came with 16GB of inbuilt storage.

The new price is still more expensive than the Apple iPad 2, which starts at US$499.

Despite the leaked sales brochure, there is no guarantee that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will appear on our shores in its current form. 

Earlier this week, Samsung agreed to delay the launch of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia until at least the end of September as part of an ongoing patent battle with rival tablet maker Apple. Apple has filed multiple lawsuits against its South Korean rival around the world, which it has accused of "slavishly" copying Apple's catalogue of products.
