"We had not one, but multiple teams within a team," he said.
"I removed some of those boundaries, pulled them together as one group and then created two senior roles; a head of the product team and a head of sales.
"We opened it up to everyone in terms of the roles. There were no redundancies or firings. A couple of our staff weren't interested so we offered them a redundancy package. We did not fire anyone," he added.
Newton, who is responsible for the future direction of the Samsung IT division, increasing business for its print and monitor solutions, said he is currently looking for four people to fill newly created roles mainly in the sales division.
"We are in the process of acquiring other people in roles that have become available. These are new roles that were never there to start with," he said.
"Some have been offered to those that left, there were three members of staff that took the redundancy packages.
"We have four urgent new roles but in the long term there will be more including sales and those on the technical side."
