Samsung Australia IT boss steps down
Todd Lynton.

Samsung Australia's Tony Ignatavicius has stepped down from his role as the company's director of IT, and will be replaced by former Cisco MD of consumer for A/NZ Todd Lynton.

Lynton has worked across Panasonic, Polaroid, Olympus and Cisco over his twenty-year career in IT products and marketing.

Lynton exited his most recent role as country manager for A/NZ and Singapore for Fitbit in September.

Lynton will look after Samsung’s notebook, print, digital imaging, monitor and storage divisions, as well as leading the company’s retail strategy.

“It’s a great time to be joining the Samsung IT division, especially with the upcoming launch of the ATIV Windows 8 Smart PCs range,” Lynton said in a statement.

“Samsung is a strong competitor with solid momentum in the IT area, the goal is to push the boundaries of innovation and drive the division towards market leadership,” Lynton said in a statement.

Ignatavicius had been in the role since March of this year. Prior to his stint at Samsung Ignatavicius' 23 year career spanned roles at HP, Synnex, IBM and Phillips. Samsung declined to comment on Ignatavicius' movements.
