Rubrik partners with Mandiant to boost cyber resilience

Backup and data recovery specialist Rubrik has announced a new partnership and technology integration with security vendor Mandiant, owned by Google.

Rubrik and Mandiant's collaboration aims to expedite customers' threat detection and cyber recovery by combining expertise in data security, incident response, and threat intelligence.

The partnership addresses a critical issue in cybersecurity.

According to Mandiant's M-Trends 2024 report, threat actors operate undetected in victims' environments for a median of 10 days, giving them ample time to stage destructive attacks.

This collaboration aims to apply indicators of compromise proactively, enhancing cyber resilience.

The partnership focuses on three key pillars:

1. Integration of Mandiant Threat Intelligence into Rubrik Security Cloud
2. Clean Room Recovery powered by Google Cloud
3. Collaboration between Rubrik Ransomware Response and Mandiant Incident Response teams

Rubrik Enterprise Edition customers now benefit from Mandiant Threat Intelligence integrated into Rubrik's Threat Monitoring capability.

Organisations identify and combat threats with the integration before they execute a destructive activity.

The Clean Room Recovery feature allows customers to recover and store data in a clean Google Cloud environment or multi-cloud environments, addressing concerns about potential backdoors in backups.

For joint customers, Rubrik and Mandiant bring together their respective Ransomware Response and Incident Response teams, providing additional investigative and recovery support during critical times.
