Cybersecurity vendor Rubrik has announced the appointment of David Rajkovic as its managing director for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
Based in Sydney, Rajkovic had previously held the position of ANZ vice president at Commvault and brings almost two decades’ experience from both the partner and vendor sides of the channel.
Rajkovic started his career as a field engineer and solution architect working at the likes of Com Tech and Dimension Data, before serving in executive roles at Citrix and Oracle.
“Despite a litany of recent breaches, local organisations are still struggling to ensure their businesses remain cyber resilient,” said Antoine Le Tard, VP of Asia Pacific and Japan at Rubrik.
“Just last week, APRA issued a notice to the entities it oversees highlighting the importance of backups after having observed weakness in ‘the use of data backups to protect an entity against data loss’.”
“Part of the challenge is that many organisations believe they have an adequate backup and recovery strategy, only to see it fail when needed. David understands the journey to cyber resilience. His respect in the industry and his relationships make him the perfect candidate to lead our local business and reinforce Rubrik as the logical choice to improve cyber resilience.”
Rajkovic said his initial focus would be on building long-term strategic relationships with partners and customers.
“APRA’s letter to its members is indicative of a broader challenge facing local organisations. Data needs to be air-gapped, immutable, and managed while being able to ensure it is always available as part of business continuity,” he said.
“That’s what attracted me to Rubrik – the company offers its customers true cyber resilience.”
