Redmap signs Toshiba OEM deal

Email management software vendor Redmap has signed a worldwide OEM agreement with Toshiba Australia to distribute its multi-function printer software.

The Australian software developer said its Re-RITE software "enhanced" the capabilities of Toshiba's e-STUDIO multi-function printers.

Under the agreement, Redmap would extend the product’s functionality in line with Toshiba's requirements, such as expansion of multiple language support in preparation for a European release.

Earl Woolley, president at Redmap, said the deal was a global endorsement for the company's software development.

"It puts us in a strong technical and financial position to continue investing in R&D," Woolley said.

The global deal built on an agreement in March 2004. Dealer support for the product was "extremely strong", Redmap said.

“We have only recently opened a US office and a new scanning bureau and this deal significantly enhances our reputation as we develop our US sales,” Woolley said.

Re-RITE was an application for storing, retrieving and reformatting documents, using an automated process that converted scanned paper documents into files that could be searched and edited with no user intervention, the company said.

Documents could then be sent to users via email or the office computer network, and edited using applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat PDF.

Redmap claims global customers in diverse industries such as accounting, finance, education, government, defence, recruitment, professional services and manufacturing. Redmap software can be integrated into key scanning and document management systems.
