Reditech, a small Sydney-based solution provider supporting SMEs and schools yesterday had its website taken down by a group identifying itself as a web development outfit from Indonesia.
The website was replaced with images of four Asian school girls, along with a blaring soundtrack provided by the nu-metal group “Avenged Sevenfold.” The images were not salacious in nature.
A message reading “Deface by R1P Hello Admin , I'am From Indonesia , We Are Green Art Zone. Contact Us. Hello Admin , Please Patch and fix your sistem security is the website.” was also placed on the website.
CRN contacted Reditech for comment but a company representaive denied anything had happened. Reditech's website was up and running as normal this morning.
The incident comes as leading security vendors report that SMBs are increasingly the victims of cyber attacks as greater internet connectivity coupled with poor policies and awareness around cyber security make them easy targets.
