Print and IT distributor Dynamic Supplies has acquired Brisbane-based warehousing and logistics provider Independent Warehousing & Logistics (IWL).
Dynamic Supplies managing director Scott McLennan confirmed the deal to CRN, saying the acquisition was in line with the company's efforts to further expand into warehousing and logistics.
"One of Dynamic Supplies' strengths is warehousing and logistics, and we decided to leverage the excess capacity that we had and open it up to other people," McLennan said.
"As a family-owned business, IWL's strengths lie with how it deals with customers and has a really good track record. Fortunately for Dynamic, the company went up for sale and we knew they would be an excellent fit."
The deal was completed earlier this month, following the retirement of IWL's previous owners.
IWL provides warehousing and logistics solutions through its sole warehouse in the suburb of Rocklea in Brisbane. The company will continue trading under the same name.
IWL joins Dynamic’s group of companies, which includes IT and audio-visual distributor XIT, Toner Warehouse, Printsolv and Dynamic Group Logistics.
McLennan said Dynamic is also looking to further grow its warehousing business organically and through acquisitions, eyeing more providers outside of Queensland.
Earlier this year, Dynamic Supplies reported a $10 million revenue hit in the 2017 financial year, earning $205 million for the period, but has maintained healthy profits of $13.6 million.
