Pioneer Computers has broadened its distribution agreement with VIA Technologies to include embedded systems and embedded motherboards to its product portfolio.
Taiwanese-based VIA is a CPU and chipset maker, formerly distributing products through BCN and Embed Digital which have both closed down.
Jeff Li (pictured), managing director, Pioneer Computers said the white-box maker has been marketing VIA based systems in various form factors, such as notebook and Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC).
“The latest mini PC, LCD PC and car PC are coming under our banner. The VIA single chip PC without motherboard will be coming in the next few months,” said Li.
“We will be VIA's master distributor looking after all local VIA product sales, service and support, included in this is the warranty for BCN customers with proof of purchase.”
The new ongoing deal with VIA won’t affect Pioneer's current agreements with AMD and Intel because the products are in different market settings, Li said.
“AMD is a high performance product and Intel is catching up with the vendor. VIA’s products will be aimed at the ultra-mobile and embedded PC market,” he said.
