Thomas Duryea beat off competition from Inspire IT and Pepperstorm to win Rising Star reseller for 2008, the second award it has picked up this year after scooping VMWare’s Partner of the Year A/NZ.
“I really want to thank all the engineers, sales team and staff for all their efforts and for working tirelessly around the clock," said Peter Levett, solution architect, Thomas Duryea.
"It is thanks to them that we have been given this award,” he added.
John Walters director of commercial and retail sales for Ingram, handed out the reseller awards.
The other winners were; Matrix CNI Communications & Security, Specialist Reseller 2008; Frontline Systems, Solution Reseller of the Year; TriForce, Most Innovative Solution of the Year; and The Artis Group, Solution of the Year for 2008.
Andrew Ratcliff, marketing manager for Matrix CNI said getting the award was a great way to celebrate its success in the marketplace and ‘good recognition from its suppliers’.
Brian Nizette, director of finance for Frontline Systems said he wanted to thank his team and Ingram for being such a great support to them.
“May they long continue to help us to grow,” he said.
“This industry is changing all the time. We continually face new challenges when we design our solutions and Ingram is a good source of help to our team,” added Nizette.
Each of the winners received HP notebooks and Seagate external hard drives.
The winners of the vendor awards, hosted by Guy Freeland vice president and managing director, Ingram Australia, went to Avocent for Rising Star vendor 2008; HP ProCurve, Specialist Vendor 2008; Sam Laverty Trend Micro, Distribution Account Manager 2008; and IBM, Vendor of the Year.
Ed Havlik, country manager of Avocent said he was ‘delighted to be delivering the best solution to the market’ and thanked all his resellers and end users.
According to Stuart Ellis, enterprise business manager, Ingram was ecstatic with the outcome and reaction of its vendors and resellers alike.
“We had a really good time and think we set up a good relaxed forum without the formalities. It was great to get a mix of friendly rivalry in that sort of environment,” he said.
“The awards for us recognise excellence and people who have supported us throughout 2008 with some excellent pieces of work.
“It was a worthwhile exercise for us to do that and people recognise that recognition. There was certainly an air of expectation as the announcements were made,” Ellis added.
