Perth-based channel player Ajilon has won a $1 million contract to provide testing services for the Federal Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
"We're providing managed testing services for applications developed internally [within the department]," said Ajilon Federal Government manager Brett Minifie.
While Minifie wouldn't disclose the number of Ajilon staff working on the contract, he did confirm that the majority of the $1 million will go towards labour.
"We do about $40-50 million worth of business every year in Canberra with clients like defence, DHS, immigration, and the tax office," Minifie told CRN.
"Activities range from SAP, outsourcing managed services, project management to business analysis."
While Ajilon provides services to mining, energy and commercial sectors, relationships with government clients remain its bread-and-butter.
"The public sector accounts for more than 50 percent of our revenue," public sector general manager Murray Rosa told CRN. "Just with the Western Australia Police, we've had more than $10 million of work since January."
Three Ajilon projects were nominated for the 'services domain – government' category in this year's Western Australian Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards, of which two were WA Police work.
Ajilon originates from Perth but is promoting its presence in the eastern states.
"We realise growth will come from the east coast," said Rosa. "Half of our staff are there now."
The service provider is owned by Swiss human resources giant Adecco and has more than 1000 employees spread around the mainland capitals.
"We're purely focused on IT so we're a bit of an unusual fit in the Adecco family," Rosa said.
