Industry veteran Anthony Woodward has been hired by Orro Group as its new chief strategy and transformation officer.

Woodward's career spans decades in the technology business, from co-founding Zip World, to Internet provider Bulletproof, and most recently, being the chief executive of managed service provider giant Logicalis Australia, a position that he left in January this year.

Techpartner.news caught up with Woodward, and asked how the new new position came about.

"Orro has made the decision to execute a strategy as it enters a new growth phase, and I was brought into the process through some mutual connections," Woodward said.

The new gig brings together the entire go-to-market function encompassing marketing, product and service development, and sales, Woodward explained.

"As the transformation engine for the business, it brings together the broad capabilities that Orro has acquired over the last few years to deliver a unique blend of offerings that are strategic, meaningful and business-effective for our clients," he said.

"I will be focused on bringing the key strengths Orro has across Network, OT/IT, Cyber Security and the burgeoning AI opportunity we face to continue to accelerate Orro’s market share as we move into a new phase of growth."

Orro CEO Daniel Greengarten said the appointment comes at a pivotal time in the company's growth journey.

"His experience in building and scaling leading technology organisations, combined with a deep understanding of the Australian market, makes him the ideal person to lead our strategy and transformation agenda," he said.

"We’re excited to have him on board to help accelerate our evolution as a truly differentiated technology partner and further solidifying our position as a market leader.”

Woodward will be based in Sydney, but said that as the position is one that covers both Australia and New Zealand, he expects to be working with teams across the region.

In February 2024, Orro acquired Wellington MSN Liquid IT, the company's first acquistion outside Australia.
