ERP giant Oracle has seen a strong customer foothold across its database, middleware and applications businesses in the Asia Pacific region during the third quarter of its fiscal year 2007.
The vendor has won a swag of new businesses across the region for Q3FY07 including, Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation (Malaysia) Berhad, Guangzhou City Construction & Development (China), Gujarat Electricity Board, Vadodra, India, ICICI Prudential life Insurance Company Ltd. (India), Lembaga Tabung Haji(Malaysia), LG Electronics India, MTU Detroit Diesel Australia, Ningbo Commercial Bank (China), Panasonic AVC Networks Singapore Pte Ltd, Shanghai General Motors Corporation Limited (China), Shanghai Guofu Long Fong Foods (China), Shree Cement Limited (India), Staging Connections Group Ltd (Australia), Tube Investments of India Limited, Zhejiang Energy Lan Xi Power Generation Country Energy (China).
Derek Williams chairman and executive vice president for Oracle Asia Pacific and Japan, said Oracle’s expanded portfolio of solutions provides companies in Asia Pacific with the widest choice of fully integrated solutions with deep industry functionality built on open standards.
“Organisations of all sizes in key, high-growth industries – including financial services, communications, media, utilities, government, education, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, distribution - have chosen Oracle to integrate their business systems, increase business efficiencies and performance, and lower operational costs,” he said.
Brian Mitchell, senior vice president, Oracle Asia Pacific said the vendor was gaining market share with new customer wins across all industries, markets and size of companies.
“Customers in Asia are responding very positively to our commitment to enhance the Oracle applications product lines - Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards – as well as to provide lifetime support, under the “Applications Unlimited” program,” said Mitchell.
