Optus wins insurance contract extension

Workers compensation insurer provider Insurance and Care NSW (icare) has awarded Optus with a contract to supply telecommunications services for a three-year term.

The extension is worth $2.6 million, and is an extension of a 2017 agreement to provide “telecommunications as a service.”

The contract covers fixed data telecommunications services covering wide area network (WAN) links between icare offices and the SIP voice trunks.

The tender was published last month but the contract commenced on 10 November 2018 and will finish on 9 November 2021.

icare, founded in 2015 to replace Workcover NSW, provides workers' compensation insurance to public and private sector employers in NSW and their employees.
