Optus has signed 2SG Wholesale as a distributor for the machine-to-machine, internet of things and GPS technology channel.
The Brisbane distributor will combine Optus' M2M carriage services with applications that resellers can use to deliver GPS asset management, tracking and M2M capabilities, announced the telco.
"Optus is pleased to be working with 2SG because the M2M market represents such a terrific growth opportunity for us. M2M is still in its infancy in Australia and is still currently under-serviced by wholesale-enabled service providers," said Optus Wholesale head of marketing and strategy John Castro.
"This new relationship creates an exciting opportunity for resellers to participate in the market."
2SG Wholesale already distributes GPS and M2M products into the transport and logistics, and mining verticals.
The Optus deal will see the integration of 3G and 4G hardware into white-labelled monitoring software that uses vehicle, asset, trailer, equipment and personal trackers to input into regulatory transport applications.
"From personal tracking to complex regulatory transport systems – including user friendly tracking platform for reporting, visibility, productivity and compliance needs, 2SG offers a full suite of applications and products to provide customers the data on their assets to make better business decisions," said Castro.
2SG Wholesale boasted that its applications allow resellers to get into the market "lower penetration, minimal setup and a market-ready product", with the distie's managing director Mark Shield adding: "M2M is the way of the future and the business opportunities it provides are tremendous."
2SG Wholesale, formerly known as iseek Connect, is part of the 2SG Technology Group - which also includes the GPS and asset management solutions provider Bigmate.
