Dimension Data has been awarded part of a four-year $30 million contract announced today by Optus Business to supply telecommunications services to NSW government utility Sydney Water.
Optus will deliver fixed, mobile and managed services to Sydney Water, partnering with Dimension Data on certain components of the contract, which carries the option of running over eight years.
The utility would receive fixed and mobile voice and data carriage, messaging and network connectivity to 67 sites for Optus’ national IP network for business, Optus Evolve, as well as Optus Evolve Internet and Optus Evolve Ethernet WAN.
Also included was management of Sydney Water’s LAN and WAN environments as well as service maintenance and management. Sydney Water would also receive inbound voice services to support call centres including intelligent call routing and interactive voice response.
Optus Business managing director Rob Parcell said that the carrier’s solutions would improve the operations of Sydney Water, which was the largest urban water utility in Australia.
“This is a strategic partnership that leverages our Optus Evolve and mobile networks to help Sydney Water deliver operational efficiencies,” Parcell said.
