Optus has announced it will the first mobile operator in the world to offer the Garmin-Asus A10 smartphone.
The Garmin-Asus A10 smartphone offers Garmin's navigation services including access to maps, fuel search and access to over 30,000 apps now available via Android Marketplace.
Matt DeMoss, national sales and marketing manager Australia for Garmin-Asus said users can navigate to an address, which is stored in an email, text message, on a web site or in the contact list.
"On request, the A10 will even navigate users to a location where they have previously taken a geo-tagged photograph with the integrated camera or one that has been downloaded from Panoramio," said said DeMoss.
The A10 is ready for in-car navigation and hands-free calling straight out of the box, claimed Asus.
The A10 bright features a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen, electronic compass and long-lasting 1500mAh battery. Maps are preloaded on the A10.
The Garmin-Asus A10 is available to consumers for $0 upfront on the ‘yes' Social $29 plan over 24 months.
For small business customers it is available at $0 Upfront on the ‘yes' Business Complete $49 plan over 24 months which includes 500MB of data per month.
