Mobile phone manufacturer Nokia is to close its interactive Mosh web site, which has been running since 2007 and has attracted over 137 million downloads.
"There is no official date for closing Mosh, but Nokia is expected to launch its Ovi Store in May, merging its software download store with Mosh and widget service WidSets," said a report on Reuters. Nokia could not immediately provide comment.
Mosh allows users to upload free mobile content like applications, games, videos, widgets and ringtones to their phone. It became the subject of controversy after attracting a large amount of porn, and for allowing users to download copyrighted music and games.
Nokia said on Wednesday that it will use its Developer Summit in Monaco next month to announce "the latest updates about publishing to the Ovi Store", as well as store pricing strategies.
Developers can already publish applications to the store through a self-service Publish Ovi tool.
