Google’s Nexus 4 smartphone has for the third time become available to Australian buyers, despite selling out in minutes four days ago.
Interested buyers of the LG-built smartphone have been engaged in an exhausting back and forth since the phone was first announced in November.
The Nexus 4 was launched exclusively through the Google Play store late last year and sold out in minutes, coming back on the market last week but once again selling out in 24 hours. The 16GB model sold out in hours while the 8GB model remained on sale.
Both models are listed as available for purchase on the Google Play store today with a 2-3 week wait for shipment. The 16GB version is selling for $399, the 8GB model for $349.
Google has repeatedly refused to comment on how much stock it has moved and how much is available.
The Nexus 4 is also available for purchase from Harvey Norman after LG last week announced the phone would be sold through the retailer at a 25 percent premium.
The 16GB model is offered from Harvey Norman for $496, compared to Google’s $399 pricing. It is also available on a range of Optus plans for up to $130 a month.
LG said the change in price reflected the added costs required to sell a product in store, citing staffing, distribution, point of sale and marketing.
The 4.7in Nexus 4 houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip, 2GB RAM, 8MP back and 1.3MP front camera, a 2100mAh battery and runs on the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean.
