Nextgen Group appoints channel boss

Network provider Nextgen Group has appointed James Veness to the newly created role of general manager for wholesale and channel.

Veness previously handled a portfolio valued at nearly $200 million at AAPT covering alliance, carrier and media channels.

In this role, Veness was responsible for growing the international carrier business and forging business partnerships with key IT and alliance partner channels.

Prior to joining AAPT, he spent seven years with British Telecom, as sales director of media and broadcast as well in key roles in finance and strategic sales.

"This is a newly created role bringing together Nextgen Group’s existing indirect relationships under a single team, focusing on wholesale customers, international carriers, system integrators and IT companies in the domestic market", said Nextgen Group CEO Peter McGrath.

Nextgen group is a supplier of network connectivity, data centre facilities and cloud services. Earlier this year they formed a partnership with the Victorian government to provide voice and data in south-western Victoria.
