Under the multi-million dollar agreement, NewSat will supply CapRock with new satellite bandwidth in Asia for VoIP, corporate network access, Internet access and other communication services.
John Walker, chairman at NewSat, stated to the ASX, its Perth teleport footprint will provision the communication services.
He said the contract also breaks fresh ground for the company because it establishes a supply link under a new alliance with Japanese satellite fleet operator JSAT on its latest JSAT 2A facility.
“This extends NewSat’s complement of contracting satellite connectivity to five fleet operators and 13 satellites,” said Walker.
According to Walker, the contract is very encouraging as it continues to build its annuity-based contract business model.
