Distributor Synnex has claimed exclusive rights to introduce the Getac T800 rugged tablet to the Australian channel.
The 8.1-inch display tablet is fit for "extreme working environments" including the "utilities, military, field service, public safety and transportation" industries, said a statement from Synnex.
Synnex Australia's senior product manager Andrew Yu said the Windows 8.1 tablet features "reliable data communication and transmission, field data collection and secure identification recognition".
"We're excited to get this new product into the hands of our customers through our extensive reseller network," said Yu.
The T800 weighs in at 880g with a thickness of just 2.4cm, according to Synnex Australia. Getac's "snapback add-on" feature is available on the tablet to allow peripherals to be plugged in.
The distie also said in the statement that the display is "more readable especially under sunlight, offers better contrast, and gives crisper colours than any other rugged tablet display does".
The release of T800 comes on top of Synnex Australia's upgrade of the X500 announced last week.
