IT service provider Netsolutions will offer two Victorian University students placements to help develop an "integrated security management platform" at its Melbourne R&D centre.
The company, which specialises in IBM and Juniper professional services and holds partnerships with both vendors, plans to offer the placements to students accepted into the Victorian Government's ICT skills university scholarships program.
The program, run in partnership with universities and Victoria's IT community, funded industry-based tertiary scholarships until December next year.
"Netsolutions will provide office space, staff supervision and the necessary hardware and software to the students during the program," the company said in a statement.
"Outside the scheduled full time placements, students will be completing training at Victoria University to acquire the necessary skills that will be complementary to their work at Netsolutions."
Netsolutions' customers included Australia Post, Village Roadshow, Parks Victoria, Lockheed Martin and BUPA Health.
