NetBox Blue gets tough on cyber bullying

The CBPE is the first email filter of its kind, to indentify, report and manage the threat of cyber bullying in the education sector.

School networks across Australia already use SecurED to protect internet-enabled students and manage schools' email, internet and networks.

John Fison chairman of NetBox Blue said CBPE adds another layer to the security infrastructure.

"Cyber bullying is a complex and very worrying problem for schools across Australia," said Fison.

"A survey of girls aged between 12 and 15 by the National Coalition Against Bullying found 42 percent reported being bullied online or by text message.

"The Cyber Bullying Prevention Engine gives schools another weapon to tackle this enormous problem.

"It is a valuable means for schools to discharge their duty of care, by protecting students and staff from abusive email."

The CBPE can be set up to block inappropriate email, report which email has been blocked and shadow copy blocked email to teachers, administration staff or parents.

The SecurED solution comes with a pre-loaded suite of email filters that can be customised for the specific school's needs.

The CBPE is available on both physical SecurED appliances, as well as the virtual edition SecurED appliances, that run on VMware.
