Netbooks are dead, says Samsung

Samsung could be set to drop its line of notebooks if a wayward company email intercepted by French site Blogeee is to be believed.

The email states that Samsung's new strategy involves dropping the 10.1in (netbook) range in early 2012 to focus upon 11.6in and 12in ultrabooks.

In Samsung's eyes, it seems, the 10in display is now the domain of the tablet rather than the netbook. It's not the biggest surprise, as new netbooks have been rather thin on the ground lately. But it always brings a tear to our eye when any form of tech is resigned to the big attic in the sky.
