NBN contractors walked off the job yesterday for 24 hours because of claims by the Communications Workers Union NBN Co was refusing to pay contractors for the work they do.
CWU National secretary Shane Murphy said in a statement the downing of tools was the result of NBN Co cutting subcontractor rates and making unilateral changes to installation requirements, in addition to rising fuel costs.
A stop-work rally was held outside NBN Co’s North Sydney offices on April 23.
