NATO approves flash drive

IronKey has gained approval for use of its secure flash drives within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).

As part of the deal, IronKey will provide the 28 member nation organisation with IronKey S200 encrypted USB flash drives.

Ironkey's Australian distributor, Duo International said NATO's approval was good for the region.

"[Australia] will benefit greatly by the recognition gained by this approval, especially in the more sensitive secure environments," said Eric Krieger, sales manager of Duo International

"IronKey is the first and only Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) secure USB flash drive approved by NATO for use within the 28 NATO member nations," said Krieger.

IronKey has the ability to remotely delete data or destroy the device, the vendor said.
