Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry devices will get Bing for Mobile at some point but Microsoft has followed the rest of the app pack in releasing its shiny new search app for iPhone and Android ahead of its own baby OS.
To distract us from this odd move, Bing has used HTML5 to add features that will integrate Bing for Mobile with other apps you've got on your smartphone – handy if you want to search for and then buy gig tickets, for instance.
Functions such as voice search and using the camera were hinted at as being the future of search, so we may have to play the waiting game. But any new updates to the app will be automatic – plus right now there's a new video portal and a split list and map view for local business listings to play with.
