Microsoft hails Apple as just an overpriced logo

If you've ever walked into your local retailer and wondered what the difference between the latest Dell, HP or Mac desktop is - according to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, there's very little.

In a TechFlash report, Ballmer made his anti-Apple statements at a New York conference, justifying his words by gesturing to the current US recession and predicting that customers were no longer in the mood for paying more for "a logo".

"Paying an extra $US500 for a computer in this environment - same piece of hardware - paying $US500 more to get a logo on it? I think that's a more challenging proposition for the average person than it used to be", Mr Ballmer said.
