Located in Melbourne’s CBD, the new office will focus on sales and business development in the southern region of Australia while the Sydney office will target the country’s northern region.
According to Philip Routley, product marketing manager A/NZ, two-long term MessageLabs associates will head the operations for the new office.
Belinda Burgess, partner account director for A/NZ, will have a primary responsibility to recruit more partners and sales director for APAC and Declan Hourihan, who originally set up the Sydney office, will be responsible for servicing clients, said Routley.
According to the newly appointed country manager Andrew Antal, the opening of the Melbourne office this month is a realisation of MessageLabs’ progress in the market.
“It is indicative of the fantastic growth we have had over the last year, we now have dedicated staff on the ground in our Victorian office which will help us replicate the growth we have seen in the finance, professional services and manufacturing sectors in NSW,” said Antal.
New partners and new clients have come on board to support MessageLabs allowing the company to double its Sydney staff in the past few months reaching 30 people, added Routley.
Earlier, MessageLabs announced that is had appointed Andrew Antal as country manager for A/NZ taking over the role from James Scollay, who will continue his role as vice president APAC with a focus on Japan. Antal joined MessageLabs in 2005 as marketing director.
“Andrew has been an significant force behind our success in the Australian market which has seen MessageLabs' customer base grow by 130 percent in the last 12 months,” said Scollay.
