Melbourne IT will offer a flat-price cloud migration service that it claims is a first in the channel.
The AWS partner will offer Cloud Factory, a serviced offering “large-scale, repeatable, fixed-price data centre migrations into the public cloud” priced at $2,000 per server for 200 servers. Melbourne IT claims the fixed price is not currently offered by any other cloud provider.
The hoster’s head of enterprise services, Peter Wright, said that unlike other providers, Melbourne IT will offer the fixed price up front without a prior discovery process.
The service is being offered through an exclusive partnership with US managed services provider 2nd Watch, which offers Cloud Factory in the US.
The US company claims to be the largest Amazon Web Services partner in the US and counts the likes of Lenovo, Yamaha and Conde Nast as clients. 2nd Watch started offering Cloud Factory services in the US in November and will supply its Australian partner with product knowledge, training, IP and technical support.
