Australian channel bosses have shared the limelight with the likes of James Packer and Rupert Murdoch on the BRW Executive Rich List 2015, published this week.
David Dicker has appeared on the list for the first time, ranking as the 29th richest executive in Australia with his 2015 shareholding valued at approximately $102.6 million. This was despite Dicker not drawing a salary in 2015.
Also making her mark is Maxine Horne, named as Australia’s wealthiest female boss. The chief executive of Vita Group was ranked 33rd with a shareholding worth $89 million. Vita operates 100 Telstra dealers and 16 Telstra Business Centres, as well as Apple reseller chain Next Byte and Fone Zone. It also owns solutions provider Camelon IT.
MyNetFone chief executive officer Rene Sugo also made his debut on the list in 72nd spot, ahead of Westfield co-CEOs Peter and Steven Lowy. His shareholding is valued at $40.6 million.
Also making his mark is Dick Smith chief executive Nick Abboud in 88th position, with a shareholding worth $30.2 million, though a much higher 2015 remuneration than the other names mentioned above, at $2.6 million.
Gerry Harvey maintained his place among the top 10 wealthiest executives in sixth place, with a 2015 shareholding worth an estimated $1.5 billion, ahead of Flight Centre Travel boss Graham Turner and behind Seven Group executive chairman Kerry Stokes. Harvey Norman chief executive officer Katie Page also landed in 37th position.
Retiring Telstra chief executive officer David Thodey was in 94th position with a shareholding valued at $28.8 million.
Other Australian ICT bosses on the list include Freelancer's Matt Barrie (17th; $199.3m), Macquarie Telecom's David Tudehope (52nd; $53.6m), M2 Group's Vaughan Bowen (53rd; $51.7m) and TPG Telecom's John Paine (78th; $36.6m).
