"This agreement underscores the importance of delivering comprehensive security solutions to meet the needs of our customers," said Roger King, executive vice president of worldwide channel operations at McAfee.
"The complexities of today's threats and turbulent economic times call for agreements of this kind, where products from multiple vendors are combined to maximise our customers' existing investments and lower operational costs."
McAfee's new reseller agreement with HP will provide security suites and services to customers from a single source.
David Scholtz, senior vice president of strategic alliances at McAfee said with so many security products with similar features it is difficult for enterprises - particularly ones with large, multi-platform, international IT operations - to find the best fit.
"HP's customers will appreciate the convenience of buying hardware and security solutions and services from a single vendor," said Andy Crawford, global director of Software Licensing and Management Solutions at HP.
"By offering McAfee hardware and security solutions, HP will be able to help large organisations identify and deploy systems that fit the unique characteristics of their existing IT infrastructures," he added.
