Published 21 December 2007, Gartner research examined security vendors that offer solutions in the endpoint protection marketplace. Assessment criteria covered a company’s ability to execute and its completeness of vision, both of which McAfee scored well in.
Gartner research stated: "Leaders demonstrate balanced progress and effort in all execution and vision categories. Their actions raise the competitive bar for all products in the market, and they can change the course of the industry."
According to Gartner, there are several factors contributing to McAfee’s ‘ability to execute’ including the quality of its products and services, overall viability, market responsiveness and track record. To satisfy the ‘completeness of vision’ criteria, the report cited McAfee’s strength in market understanding, sales and marketing strategy, product strategy, business model and innovation.
"We believe our position in the leader quadrant further validates McAfee's commitment to delivering market leading security risk management solutions," said Michael Sentonas, director of services – APAC, McAfee. "Customers and partners rely on McAfee to provide best-in-class protection against varying security threats which could disrupt business productivity."
