Financial services company Equity Trustees has selected Macquarie Telecom for a four-year deal to provide managed hosting, voice and data.
Established in 1888, Equity Trustees provides traditional trustee services, as well as portfolio management, managed funds and superannuation.
Under the four year deal, Macquarie Telecom will provide managed server hosting solution required to support Equity Trustees' websites and online services.
These services include access to the company's secure customer applications such as personal and business portfolios, superannuation and managed funds accessed by the financial company's diverse range of clients.
Michael Fugaro, lead systems administrator for Equity Trustees said the deal would help take pressure off of the in-house management and support teams and allow them to focus on their own tasks rather than ongoing network management and administration.
The deal also extends to the provision of a data network between the company's offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, he said.
Macquarie Telecom was chosen to deliver these services following a competitive tender of managed hosting providers.
"Our customers quite rightly demand that our online portfolio management systems are hosted in the most secure of ways and are always on," said Fugaro. "The hosting solution is based on virtual dedicated servers which provides an increased level of scalability and flexibility and ensures we can manage peaks in traffic to the site."
Fugaro said that by moving its voice and data services, the company benefits from a single service provider agreement and service level agreements across all services.
Spread across multiple virtual hosts, Equity Trustees' mission-critical applications and websites are to be housed in Macquarie 's ISO and DSD Gateway certified data centre, he said.
