Last week Logitech announced that it would be getting a colourful rebrand as Logi. Now the tech accessory company has unveiled its first product under the new name – and it hasn't strayed too far from what it's familiar with.
The Logi BLOK is a family of cases for iPad Air and iPad Mini, designed to give those tablets an extra wrapping of durability. With the cases, the iPad can allegedly be dropped and withstand impacts from a height of up to 6 feet.
“Until now, protecting your iPad from drops meant covering it with a bulky case that took away from the beauty and mobility of the iPad,” said Michele Hermann, vice president of mobility at Logitech in a press release. “Our designers worked with material experts to protect the most sensitive parts of the iPad without adding the bulk you associate with ultra-protective cases.”
A lot of the extra durability comes from the sharp corners of the cases, which contain absorbent polymers that flex with the iPad when it crashes against a surface.
Taken as a statement of Logi's new direction, the single-coloured square cases chime with the look of the company's shorter name and yellow logo.
The cases cost between US$39.99 and US$129.99.
