LogicaCMG, Avanade heads shuffled

Global services provider LogicaCMG has appointed a new CEO for its Australian operation.

Former Praxa head Colin Holgate takes the reins from Andrew Tindell, who has left the company after 21 years with LogicaCMG.

Holgate brings some 16 years of senior management experience to LogicaCMG. He has worked for major brands such as IBM, First National Bank, Deloitte & Touche and Unisys.

John Coleman, CEO of LogicaCMG's international division, said LogicaCMG was doing well in Australia and planned a push for a slot as one of Australia's top five IT services companies.

The Europe-based company specialises in management and IT consultancy, system integration, and outsourcing to telecommunications, financial services, energy, distribution and government verticals.

"[Holgate] has an excellent track record in achieving significant growth for companies in the tough IT services market. We were particularly impressed with his ability to quickly identify the strengths of an organisation and to leverage these to exceed his business targets," Coleman said.

Meanwhile, IT consultancy Avanade has promoted MD Australia and New Zealand Mark Chrimes to Asia-Pacific CEO.

Avanade has moved business development director Trevor Harper up to the local MD position. Harper, a former IBM, Tandem and Cisco man, has about 20 years in senior IT roles.

The consultancy - a prominent Microsoft partner - has doubled local staff numbers to around 130 in the last year.
