Lenovo has pulled back the covers on four AI-driven additions to its ThinkEdge edge computing portfolio, unveiling industrial-grade edge systems designed to run in harsh, space-constrained environments where traditional servers or PCs are impractical.

The new ThinkEdge portfolio is comprised of the ThinkEdge SE10n Gen 2, a compact, intelligent gateway; ThinkEdge SE30n Gen2, an AI-ready gateway capable of edge inference; ThinkEdge SE60n Gen 2, an edge computing solution supporting multi-camera vision, predictive analysis and autonomous workflows; and ThinkEdge SE50a, an industrial AIO panel PC.

The AI aspect of the products is on-device, which Lenovo said allows customers to act faster and minimise reliance of cloud connectivity. The on-device AI also reduces latency, strengthens data privacy and lowers operating costs, according to the company, and all devices are also capable of being remotely managed.

All the new offerings include options for Wi-Fi 6e and cellular connectivity and are designed for round-the-clock operation.

“Our latest ThinkEdge portfolio delivers a truly comprehensive suite of solutions designed with AI in mind, from intelligent gateways to high-performance edge computing systems,” said Sanjeev Menon, VP and GM of the desktop computing business at Lenovo.

“AI at the edge must be intelligent, protected and manageable at scale, and our lineup delivers by combining the latest computing core components, critical manageability and protection capabilities, and vertical industry ruggedization to help customers turn insights into recommendations and action.”

The ThinkEdge solutions will be available in select markets in the April-June timeframe.
