Lenovo has launched three new tablets, the TAB 2 A10-70, TAB 2 A8 and ideapad MIIX 300, at MWC in Barcelona.
The TAB 2 A10-70 has a 10.1in FULL-HD screen, weighs in at 509 grams and has a rather unique Dolby Atmos sound system, the latest in Dolby's surround sound technology.
By comparison, the TAB 2 A8 tablet has an 8in screen and an HD display, rather than Full-HD, and has eight hours of battery life, rather than 10.
At 360 grams, it's lighter than the TAB 2 A10-70, however, and runs Android 5 Lollipop, as opposed too 4.4 JellyBean.
There's some common ground between the two tablets, though. Both the TAB 2 A10-70 and TAB 2 A8 are 8.9mm thick, feature a MediaTek quad-core processor, and have Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity options.
Both tablets have a rear camera, with the TAB 2 A10-70' sporting 8-megapixels, while the TAB 2 A8 has a slightly less powerful 5-megapixel one. Neither has a front-facing camera.
Australian pricing hasn't been confirmed, but Lenovo said the TAB 2 A10-70 will be available from June and cost less than US$200, while the TAB 2 A8 will be available from April and cost from US$129 (both prices before tax).
ideapad MIIX 300
Lenovo also launched a non-Android tablet in the form of the 8in ideapad MIIX 300. The tablet runs Windows 8.1 on an Intel Atom processor and has up to 64GB of storage.
It has a microSD card reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and two cameras of unspecified resolution. Lenovo also said the ideapad MIIX 300 has a "long battery life" although, once again, no figures were attached to the claim.
As it's a Windows tablet, Lenovo has also thrown in a one year subscription to Microsoft Office, which isn't too shabby for a tablet that starts at US$149 before tax.
The MIIX 300 will be available from July.
