Secure access management firm LastPass is moving out of its traditional password comfort zone with its Secure Access Essentials, a package designed to simplify application access for both lean IT teams and individuals.
The suite aims to provide foundational capabilities to discover unapproved applications and AI tools, as well as control access across every user and simplify secure sign-ins - without adding complexity or cost, the company claims.
LastPass also lets IT teams define, enforce, and audit who has access to what tools, as well as unifying Password Management, SSO, and MFA, and integrating with other tools like IdPs to ensure every employee logs in securely, every time.
All functionality is browser-based, because LastPass believes the browser is where most work now happens.
Don MacLennan, chief product officer at LastPass, said customers tell the company they need security that gives them control without slowing anyone down.
"Secure Access Essentials delivers exactly that: simple, foundational access protection that can help keep every user, every app, and every AI tool secure, all from the place people already work — the browser," he said.
