Video communications solution provider, LifeSize, has partnered with IT and consumer electronics distributor, Westan. The recent alliance coincides with the launch of LifeSize’s latest range of high definition (HD) video products.
“HD is the next big thing in communication technology,” said Craig Malloy, chief executive officer, LifeSize.
Of the three product offerings released this month, LifeSize Express is drawing the most attention. The HD video communications system is geared to medium enterprise, opening doors to businesses that had previously been excluded from this arena.
“Up until now there wasn’t enough of a value proposition in this area for smaller enterprises,” said Malloy. “Now the demand is there and LifeSize Express will open a whole new world of opportunities for resellers.”
Westan’s national base of VARs and VoIP partners will add LifeSize Communications products to their portfolio and Westan’s Business Communications Division will support LifeSize resellers through its services, as well as its branch offices and warehousing facilities across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
“We anticipate a new range of channel partners that are looking to move from small niche business into the mainstream,” said Malloy.
With three partners and a national distributor in Australia, and one reseller in New Zealand, LifeSize is recognising the benefits of its expansion into the APAC and has plans for further penetration of this market.
“We’ve been in the region for about a year signing up new channel partners and now we’re starting to get traction,” said Malloy.
Westan is aware of the opportunities that LifeSize’s all-HD video product portfolio will provide the Australian company in terms of new offerings for resellers; and conversely it acknowledges the growth possibilities for the vendor by aligning with the distributor.
