Kogan Mobile has unveiled what it claims to be Australia’s cheapest prepaid plan for unlimited calls and text.

The 1XL plan offers unlimited standard calls and text, as well as 1GB of data starting at $16.95 per month.

Customers can also purchase three-month plan for $46.95 or one-year plan for $179.95.

The online retailer relaunched Kogan Mobile in October, announcing it would be reselling on Vodafone’s 3G network.

Earlier this month, Kogan Mobile heavily discounted its two other mobile plans for a limited time until 31 March. The 3XL plan offers 30 days of unlimited standard calls and texts plus 3GB of data for $9, cut down from $29.95 per month.

The 5XL plan comes with 30 days of unlimited standard national calls and texts and 5GB of data for $10.95, usually $36.95 per month.

Kogan chief executive Ruslan Kogan said the new plan was a response to the strong demand in low-priced mobile plans in Australia.

“As a business that is focused on saving people money, we’re always telling our customers to do their research, shop around and compare prices,” said Kogan.

“We’re confident that they won’t find any mobile deals in Australia that come close to what Kogan Mobile is offering. It’s never been easier to switch telcos, keep your existing number and start saving straight away.”
