Kaspersky Lab has appointed Anastasia Para Rae as general manager for Australia and New Zealand, replacing Peter Brady who left earlier in the month.
Rae brings almost 20 years of experience in the IT industry to the role.
She was a corporate channel account manager for Primus Telecommunications Canada for four years. In 2003 she moved to Datacom where she spent 11 years. In 2014 Rae spent a year as state manager, southern region, for Schneider Electric before returning to Datacom in July 2015.
Most recently Datacom's learning and development specialist, Rae joined Kaspersky in April, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Rae is the first woman to take on the general manager role for Kaspersky ANZ. She has experience across sales, IT outsourcing and operations.
According to Kaspersky, Rae has strong technical experience in critical data centre hosting and operations, and hybrid cloud solutions as well as telecommunications, physical security and environmental management.
CRN has reached out to Peter Brady for comment.
Brady was the security vendor's general manager for a year, having reshaped the executive structure under him.
Brady joined Kaspersky in 2012 as channel sales manager for Australia and New Zealand. He took the general manager role after the departure of Andrew Mamonitis in February 2016.
Brady has more than 20 years of experience in IT. He was national reseller channel manager at MYOB for eight years prior to joining Kaspersky and has also served five years as national sales manager at PICA Australia. Between 1995 and 1999, Brady worked as an account manager for Dataflow.
