Kaseya gives MSPs remote deployment power
The vendor claims its User State Management (KUSM) module will integrate into the Kaseya IT Automation Framework and assist with remote deployments, while maintaining consistency across the organisation.

The technology was developed for Managed Services Providers and IT professionals that want the ability to remotely manage desktops, including powering them down when not in use. In addition, the new module delivers an automated desktop migration solution and enables the definition and deployment of group profiles.

Dan Shapero, senior vice president of marketing for Kaseya, said KUSM leverages technology acquired through the purchase of Versora in June of 2007.

According to Shapero, KUSM also provides power management capabilities, Vista migration, configuration and deployment of policies and desktop standards. Other key features include the delivery of an automated desktop migration solution and enablement of the definition and deployment of group profiles.

Also part of the package is the provision of necessary tools to further integrate power management policies into Kaseya’s management console and the ability to integrate into the Kaseya IT Automation Framework.

Shapiro claimed that implementing KUSM into a system with Intel vPro technology will allow IT professionals and MSPs to execute power management without compromising system management. He added that this increases productivity and contributes to energy conservation.

Through this functionality, the user is able to remotely power off computers and promote energy efficiency during non-productive hours, then power on to conduct routine off hour IT tasks, he said.
